1v1.LOL
In 1v1.LOL, being the fastest player doesn't guarantee a win, but understanding the game's geometry certainly gives you the upper hand.
Controlling the Space
This is a crucial concept. "Piece Control" means proactively placing building pieces around your opponent before they can do the same.
When an opponent is hiding behind a wall, instead of trying to break it down, quickly place cones above and below them—covering the areas where they might try to exit.
You effectively strip your opponent of their ability to build in that area. Once they are trapped in a "box" of your making, you can edit the structures to open a window and take a shot at any moment.
Right-Hand Peek
The camera in 1v1.LOL is positioned slightly to the right of the character's shoulder. Capitalizing on this is key to dealing damage without getting hit.
When editing walls, prioritize opening windows or cutting angles on the right side of your screen. When peeking to shoot, only a small portion of your character is exposed, while your crosshair has a clear view of the opponent.
Maximize damage output while minimizing your own hitbox.
High Ground Retake
Securing the high ground offers a massive advantage, but if your opponent is already up there, you can't simply build a ramp and run up naively.
As you run up the ramp, place a cone above your head to block incoming fire from above. Just before reaching the cone, edit an opening to pass through, or jump to the side and place a new floor and ramp to abruptly change direction.
Your opponent loses sight of you and cannot predict your movement, allowing you to turn the tide and reclaim the high ground.
Optimizing Keybinds
In an environment demanding millisecond reflexes, using the mouse wheel to select weapons or structures is a recipe for disaster.
Bind your building keys close to your movement keys (WASD). For example: Wall (Q), Ramp (E), Floor (C), Cone (V). Assign the Edit function to the most accessible key, such as (F) or (Shift).
Minimize the delay when switching between combat and building modes to near-zero levels.
1v1.LOL Highlights
No waiting times or tedious lobbies. Hit a button and instantly face off against another player of a similar skill level.
The building-snap system works flawlessly, enabling smooth box-fighting techniques directly in your browser. The simplified polygonal graphics help maintain a consistently high frame rate—a crucial factor during close-quarters combat.
Have a blast playing 1v1.LOL!
