How to play Police Drive
To clear the streets, simply flooring the gas and tailing the target isn't enough. You need to employ real-world police intervention tactics to bring the chase to a swift end.
PIT Maneuver
Never ram the rear of the criminal's car head-on; doing so only causes you to lose momentum and inadvertently pushes them faster.
Accelerate until you are driving parallel to the target vehicle, then make a sharp turn, using your car's nose to slam into the rear quarter panel (near the back wheel) of their vehicle.
This impact causes the target vehicle to lose its balance completely, spin out, and come to an immediate halt. It is the quickest and most professional way to end the chase.
Burst Nitro
Players' biggest error is holding down Nitro until the tank is empty.
Nitro should be burnt in short bursts to regain speed following harsh braking or weaving around civilian traffic.
This ensures you always have a reserve of Nitro for a decisive move or to catch up if the criminal suddenly accelerates and changes direction.
Slipstreaming
Leverage physics principles to save fuel and boost your top speed. Tailgate the suspect's vehicle closely on straightaways. By staying in the slipstream created by the lead car, you reduce your own vehicle's wind resistance.
Your car will accelerate faster than usual without needing Nitro. Once you have enough momentum, steer sideways to pull alongside and force them off-line.
Wall Pinning
The PIT maneuver may prove ineffective against suspects driving armored trucks or highly durable vehicles.
Gradually push the suspect's vehicle toward the median, guardrail, or cliffside. Use your vehicle's weight to pin them against the wall while riding the brakes. This generates immense friction, rapidly draining the target's speed and causing their vehicle's health bar to plummet.
